Why travel to the field to get instrumentation results?
Probably the most compelling reason to use network transducer technology for geotechnical instrumentation projects is that it simplifies data collection and management. Imagine continuous sensor readings transmitted to a web server using a small and inexpensive controller module with an internet modem. A computer program on the web server parses hundreds of data readings and writes them to a structured database. Access to calculated profiles, data summary tables, or time-history plots is just a click away using a common web browser.
